You have no more excuses to miss the premiere of The Last of Us. HBO announced that it will release its channel signal starting this Friday (13) to celebrate the arrival of one of the most anticipated series of 2023. With that, cable TV users who are not subscribers to the company’s services will be able to watch the first episode of the long-awaited adaptation.

The release of the signal will extend until next Sunday (15), the premiere date of the series. With this, in addition to checking out Pedro Pascal’s journey through a post-apocalyptic world taken over by fungus zombies, you will still be able to follow the complete schedule with other productions from the station.
This strategy of releasing access to channels is not new. HBO usually adopts this benefit precisely as a way to attract new subscribers, giving a demonstration of content that it bets on to encourage people to pay for the service. We’ve seen this happen throughout almost every season of Game of Thrones, and most recently with House of the Dragon.
This just goes to show how optimistic the network really is and is betting big on The Last of Us. The hype surrounding the adaptation of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 classic was already high since its announcement, but the release of the first impressions by the specialized critics showed that the production has the potential to be one of the great successes of the channel in the year, both among fans of the game as well as the general public.

The Last of Us tells the story of two survivors in the midst of a world that has been devastated by a deadly fungus infection. And amid contaminated people who act like extremely aggressive and violent zombies, we follow the story of Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler marked by the losses in his life having to take a very special cargo to the other side of the country — Ellie (Bella Ramsey ), a young woman who may be the cure for this disease.
The first episode of The Last of Us airs at 10 pm on Sunday, January 15th. The season has nine episodes in total.
