There was some doubt about the presence of Disney + on Amazon Fire TV devices, due to possible publicity rights. Now, however, the streaming platform is confirmed on LG as well as Samsung smart devices as of Nov. 12 in the United States. In Brazil, the streaming of Disney arrives only in November next year.
The announcement was made by CEO Bob Iger himself during a conference call about Disney's fourth quarter projection. “We are pleased to announce partnerships with Amazon Fire (TV), LG and Samsung devices.” The Disney + app on Fire TV also links to Amazon's universal search feature, which means you can order specific programs through from the Alexa assistant with voice commands like "Alexa, play The Mandalorian" for example. Content will also be included in digital assistant-based discovery features.
In early October, compatibility with Fire TV was threatened due to disagreements about advertising in Disney apps, including ABC, ESPN and Disney Channel ads. In addition, Amazon Prime Video is a competitor of Disney + in the streaming industry. It is unclear whether Mickey House has agreed to Amazon's terms – but it is certain that there has been a deal.
