The Disney + streaming service debuted in November last year in the United States and was gradually released to other international markets. But one of the biggest markets in the sector is off the list and, although we had a forecast of when the platform would arrive in Latin America, there was no confirmation from the company itself. This Thursday (13), Disney sent an official statement with the announcement of Disney + in Brazil and in the region.

“We know that our Latin American audience is looking forward to the arrival of Disney +, the only streaming service that will offer exclusive access to all premieres of available content from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic. In addition, all of Disney's animated classics will be together for the first time in a single, exclusive destination, ”says Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America.
The press release confirms the availability of all eight episodes of the first season of The Mandalorian, as well as the Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian backstage special and the final season of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Also mentioned are the Marvel attractions “for 2020 and 2021”, indicating that we are close to the premieres of Falcão and the Winter Soldier (now with official title in Portuguese), Wandavision and Loki.
Among the films, Disney + arrives in Latin America with live-action adaptations of animation classics, such as Alladin and The Lion King; and, of course, the original works. And the most nostalgic will be able to remember Marvel's television series from 1979, like the drawings of the X-Men and Spider-Man. The exclusive material also has unpublished titles here, like Pixar Animation Studios' short films.

“The entertainment proposal will be complemented by a robust offer of original Disney + series and films, a self-produced label, with a variety of titles that can only be seen on our platform, as well as original content produced locally in several countries in the region. for the most diverse audiences ”, adds Lerner.
When exactly does it arrive and how much will it cost?
Disney + was already expected to debut here in November, a year after its release date in the United States. And if the start is synchronized exactly on the anniversary, then we can wait for the release on November 12th.
Regarding prices, Disney has been offering prices below US $ 9 and US $ 8 per month charged by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video out there, at US $ 7. Since the idea is to keep the track competitive with Netflix around here, Disney + should arrive at a price close to R $ 21.90 per month from the competitor's subscription. Last week, the local Android app revealed that this figure should be R $ 28.99 per month or R $ 294.90 per year with two months free.
However, the official price has not yet been confirmed by Casa do Mickey.
